A Plumber’s Direct Iron Removal with Aeration Filtration System is a durable, dependable system designed to help treat problem water.  Depending on your needs, the system may be used independently or in tandem with other systems.

The computerized control of this system is directed and monitored by our proprietary control head.  It can be programmed to meet your personal quality and usage requirements.  It also stores data to allow for proper monitoring and maintenance of the system.  There is never any down time during regeneration because the system goes into automatic bypass when regeneration is required, so you will never be out of water.

Dual layer construction of this durable tank is comprised of miles of glass filament for exemplary strength.  Inside this tough exterior there’s another tank made of sanitary plastic which insures that your drinking water will never contact the exterior fiberglass surface.


Step 1: Water enters the compressed aeration chamber.  As the water passes through the chamber, the water becomes highly oxygenated.  As the water continues to flow through the tank, the oxygenated water converts the iron and manganese from dissolved minerals and gasses to physical particles.

Step2: The highly oxygenated water then flows through the multimedia filter bed where iron and manganese are trapped in the multimedia bed.

Step3: At pre-determined intervals the system will backwash and reduce all contaminants from the filter bed.


This system is designed for use on water supplies containing low levels of hydrogen sulfide, medium levels of iron and manganese levels not greater than 2.0 ppm. 

pH: The influent water must be between 6.8 and 9.0.

Iron Bacteria: If iron bacteria are present, frequent service may occur and the life of the system may be limited. By properly controlling the iron bacteria with chlorine or other approved methods for bacteria reduction, the system will function properly.

Manganese: Maximum influent manganese concentration is 2.0 ppm; amounts over 2.0 ppm may gradually prevent iron removal.  For optimum manganese reduction, the pH should be between 8.0 and 9.0.  If both iron and manganese are present, the pH should be between 8.0-8.5.

Organic Matter (tannins): The presence of organics above 2.0 ppm may hinder the operation of the system.

Chlorine: The presence of chlorine in the raw water supply should be limited to a maximum of 1.0 ppm.


The valve on your system is designed to last a lifetime.  Occasionally it may require cleaning and lubrication of the moving parts.  Your water quality and the amount of regenerations will affect this schedule.

The media will eventually become exhausted or consumed and will need replacement.  Replacement schedules depend on the incoming water quality and your water usage. 

CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS: Water treatment devices sold to consumers in California accompanied by certain health claims must be certified by the California Department of Health Services.  The Plumber’s Direct Iron Removal Filters are not certified by the State of California for the purposes of making health claims.
